MN Dept of Health tracks who is vaccinated, gives data to private companies

According to Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) May 2021, partners with private health plans in order to access who or who has not been vaccinated.

Alpha News reported that the department also urged Minnesotans to keep documentation of their vaccination status. The post even includes a link to a state website that keeps track of who has been vaccinated, which can be used to obtain extra copies of vaccination records.

This system is called the Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) and is designed to make “keeping track of vaccinations easier,” per the MDH.

Presently, the MIIC logs vaccination records based on reporting from enrolled entities like “health care providers, schools, child care centers, health plans, and other organizations,” according to the state. “Participating health care providers view and submit data to MIIC about immunizations an individual has received,” the MDH says.
